Hi ladies, it's my turn for July to set the Stylist Challenge.

This month I am NOT setting a layout challenge.
This month I am NOT setting a card challenge winking

This month I am setting an OTP challenge (off the page) - this means doing something different, creating something a bit more challenging, and maybe even having fun doing it - especially for those of you that don't "do" OTP usually.

So I hope you enjoy this and I CANNOT wait to see who joins in with me in creating this very fun

Accordian File Box (I acquired the idea from the internet from the very talented Maria Bell)

Here is the Accordian File Box I first made - the front could do with some better decorating but it was my first (but not my last). This one is sized 4" x 6" and would be perfect for notecards, small cards, journal cards, photos - it's fun, easy and would make a terrific gift!

Inside box

I will be popping the steps up here tonight so watch this space!

Ok I made another one with better pics I hope. I have used the Bo Bunny Mango Luau papers for this one!

Products Needed

3 pieces of coordinating cardstock cut to these sizes (I used 2 orange and 1 green

6 x 11” (I used orange )
6 x 7” (I used orange )
4 x 10” x 2 (I used orange )
4 x 5 ¾” x 4 (I used green - these are for the dividers inside)
1 ½ x 11 (I used orange - this is for the handle)

2 pieces of Patterned Paper cut to these sizes (I have used 2 pieces of Bo Bunny Mango Luau paper for mine)

3 ½ x 10” x 2 (Bo Bunny Mango Luau Coconut pp)
5 ½ x 9 1/2” (Bo Bunny Mango Luau Dude pp)
3 ½ x 5 ½” (Bo Bunny Mango Luau Dude pp)
1 x 11” (Bo Bunny Mango Luau Dude pp) (for the handle)

Tools Needed

Round Corner Punch
Double sided Tape
Scorer
1 small velcro dot (to close the box lid with)
2" circle punch or similiar (I used my Scalloped Circle Spellbinders)

(Optional - to decorate the front of the box)
- stamp, diecut image, flower, button, bling (I just used a stamped vase image on this one)

Step 1

Take the 6 x 11” piece of card and the 5 ½ x 9 ½” piece of pp and punch one end left/right side with the corner punch

Step 2

Apply tape to the back of the pp but for now we only need to attach 1/3 of the pp to the 6 x 11” card stock. We need the pp to be unstuck to allow for adding the handle to the box.

Step 3

Scoring - Starting at the end of this piece of card that you didn't round - score the 6 x 11” card stock at 1”, then score at 5” and 8”

Your piece should look like this (mine is standing up just for photo purposes)

Step 4

Attach the 1 x 11” pp to the 1 ½ x 11” card and then score 1” on both ends of the 1 ½ x 11” strip and attach some tape to the inside scored part

Step 5

Attach the strip to the center of the 3” middle section of the 6 x 11” card as shown in the photo. Now you can attach the rest of the pp completely on to the card stock

Step 6

Attach the 3 ½ x 10” pp to the 4 x 10” card and repeat this step with the second piece

Step 7

Score these pieces of 4 x 10” card starting at 1” and repeating at 1" intervals - creating 5 folds

Step 8

Score the 6 x 7” card stock at 4” and attach the 3 ½ x 5 ½” pp to the 4” panel of the 6 x 7” card

Step 9

Apply tape to the 1” panel of the scored and folded 6 x 11” card (our main piece)

Step 10

Attach the 1” panel of the 6 x 11” card stock to the inner aspect of the 3” panel of the 6 x 7” cardstock to create one piece. This will be your main piece of the box.

These 2 pieces go together

To look like this

Step 11

Apply tape to the left and right outer panels of the folded 4 x 10” card

Step 12

Attach one side of the 4 x 10” card to the back 4” panel of the main piece

Step 13

While holding the accordian piece in place, attach the other side of the 4 x 10” card to the front 4” panel of the main piece. Repeat the step with the second 4" x 10” card and attach to the other side of the box.

Step 14

Punch a slot using the 2” circle punch or hand cut the half circles or use Spellbinder Circles to the center of all four of the 4 x 5 ¾” card

Step 15

Apply tape to the right and left side of the 4 x 5 ¾” card as shown in the picture

Attach all four 4 x 5 ¾” card to the folds of the accordion folds as shown in the photo. When adhering the card, be sure to squeeze in the accordion folds so the edge of the card is flushed against the folds.

Step 16

Apply Velcro to the center edge of the inner aspect of the front 3” flap.
The Velcro will keep your box closed.

Decorate the front of your box as desired Very Happy

I used Spellbinder Blossom Nestability and coordinating ribbons on this one.

Sharon it's really easy (once I get more pics to help show the steps)

Silly me didn't take pics when I first did this one as I was planning on doing another Rolling Eyes so excuse the tatty pics - you can tell where I ripped the box apart lol

A good scorer is the essential to this little project - I just used my pink cutterpede scoring blade for mine but if you are lucky to have a score it pad then that would work a treat... I plan on using my crafters companion a bit for the next one I do winking
